A Quick Look at the Most Anticipated Soulslike Games of 2025

2025 is shaping up to be the year of “You Died” screens and controller-throwing frustration! We’ve got a sneak peek at the upcoming soulslike games that’ll have you questioning your life choices:

Soulframe: Warframe’s edgy cousin promises a “mirror universe” mechanic. Double the worlds, double the pain!

The First Berserker: Khazan: Flashy combat meets bleak atmosphere. Perfect for those who like their beatdowns with a side of style.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers: Imperial China meets Bloodborne. Prepare to die… with chopsticks?

Phantom Blade Zero: Fast-paced vengeance in a stylish package. Because revenge is a dish best served with 1000 deaths.

AI Limit: Post-apocalyptic anime adventure. For when you want your soulslike with a side of “kawaii” screams.

Get ready to git gud all over again, Tarnished! These games are coming to test your patience, reflexes, and sanity in 2025. May the frame rates be ever in your favor!

Mastering the Inner Game of Elden Ring: Unleash Your True Potential

This month, we’ve explored the ultimate boss battle in Elden Ring: the one in our own minds! Drawing from W. Timothy Gallwey’s “Inner Game” philosophy, we’ve learned to conquer our inner critic โ€“ you know, the one screaming “YOU CASUL!” after every missed dodge roll.

We’ve sharpened our awareness like true Bloodhound Knights, embracing a wider view of the battlefield. Trust became our new best friend (sorry, Torrent!) as we learned to let our instincts guide us through the Lands Between. We’ve also mastered the art of making deliberate choices in combat, turning our minds into personal strategic hubs.

The article reminded us that becoming Elden Lord isn’t just about git gud-ing through bosses, but about mastering ourselves. These mental techniques can even be applied beyond the game โ€“ maybe they’ll help you finally clean that room you’ve been putting off since the Shattering!

So, Tarnished, next time you face a challenge, take a deep breath and trust your abilities. You might find the most fearsome boss isn’t Malenia, but the limitations you place on yourself. Now go forth and conquer, both in-game and in life!

Comparing the combat system in Enotria to other Soulslikes

We’ve delved into “Enotria: The Last Song” and its unique take on Soulslike combat. While it keeps familiar elements like stamina management, Enotria spices things up with some fresh ingredients.

The game leans heavily into parrying and deflecting, channeling “Sekiro” vibes with its Unravel gauge. But here’s where it gets spicy: you can equip three builds at once!

Enotria also introduces Masks, acting like classes with unique abilities. And don’t forget the elemental effects that can either make you a powerhouse or leave you more vulnerable than a naked wretch in Elden Ring.

The combat encourages an aggressive playstyle, ditching shields in favor of dodge rolls and quick steps. It’s like a dance, if the dance floor was littered with deadly traps and the DJ was trying to kill you.

Overall, Enotria offers a fresh take on the Soulslike formula. It’s familiar enough to feel like home, but with enough new tricks to keep even veteran players on their toes. So grab your Mask and get ready to unravel some enemies!

A short Meta-Review of Enotria: The Last Song

We’ve explored Jyamma Games’ ambitious entry into the Soulslike genre, “Enotria: The Last Song“. This Italian folklore-inspired game breaks the mold with its sun-drenched, vibrant world – a far cry from the gloomy corridors we’re used to dying in repeatedly.

Enotria’s combat system leans heavily on parrying and deflecting, channeling more “Sekiro” than “Dark Souls.” The innovative Mask Lines and customizable builds add depth, but might overwhelm some players .

While the setting is ripe for storytelling, the game struggles to deliver meaningful NPC interactions, leaving the narrative feeling a bit like a half-finished fresco. Performance issues and frame rate drops also mar the experience, turning some intense moments into unintentional slow-motion sequences.

Despite these growing pains, Enotria offers a unique take on the genre. It may not reach the heights of FromSoftware’s masterpieces, but for Soulslike fans craving something different, it’s a beautiful, sunlit world worth exploring – just be prepared for some frustration along with that vitamin D.

Elden Ring Patch 1.14: A Quick Summary of the Latest Changes

Patch 1.14 has descended upon the Lands Between, bringing with it a flurry of changes to Elden Ring. Let’s break down the key updates that’ll shake up your journey through the Realm of Shadow:

The Promised Consort, the enigmatic final boss of the “SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE” DLC, has undergone a significant overhaul. Expect new opening moves, reduced damage, and improved visual clarity. It’s still a challenge, but perhaps a touch less controller-breaking.

PvP enthusiasts will notice some rebalancing, with nerfs to dual-wielding Backhand Blades and Spears, and a farewell to those pesky Spread Crossbow headshots.

General combat gets a speed boost, with faster heavy attacks for many weapons. Hand-to-Hand Arts and Colossal Swords received some love too.

Equipment and spells saw numerous buffs, including a massive boost to Rellana’s Cameo Talisman and improvements to various skills and incantations.

Lastly, a swarm of bugs has been squashed, from invisible attacks to terrain-clipping skills.

Whether you’re a hardened Elden Lord or a fresh Tarnished, these changes promise to breathe new life into both PvE and PvP. Time to update and dive back in!

Elden Ring DLC: How to Free Bell Bearings from their Pots

Attention, Tarnished! Tired of smashing pots like a clumsy giant? Well, put away those ham-fists and grab Margit’s (or Mohg’s) shackle! This magical multi-tool isn’t just for revealing sneaky walls or triggering pesky traps anymore. Now it’s the ultimate pot-buster in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC! With one satisfying ‘thwack,’ you’ll be freeing Bell Bearings from their ceramic prisons faster than you can say “Elden Bling.” The post includes a silent video (because even Bell Bearings know to keep quiet when escaping) and a treasure map of Bell Bearing locations. Happy hunting, you pot-smashing pros!

The Phantom Lancer Build โ€“ In Heavy Swords We T(h)rust

The latest Elden Ring build guide introduces “The Phantom Lancer,” a Strength and Faith combination that capitalizes on new DLC weapons. This level 185 build focuses on dual-wielding the Sword Lance and Queelign’s Greatsword, offering a mix of aggressive play and adaptability.

Key equipment includes:

  • Main hand: Sword Lance with Piercing Fang or Sacred Blade Ash of War
  • Off-hand: Queelign’s Greatsword with Flame Spear or Blood Tax
  • Secondary weapons: Misรฉricorde for critical hits and Smithscript Shield for ranged attacks
  • Seal: Clawmark Seal or Erdtree Seal for incantations

The armor set (Shadow Militiaman Helm, Night’s Cavalry Armor, Greaves and Gauntlets of Solitude) provides a thematic “phantom” look while offering 66 poise.

This build excels in aggressive play, utilizing long reach and powerful thrusting attacks. It allows for switching between pure physical and fire damage, adapting to enemy resistances. The combination of close-quarters combat, mid-range pokes, and faith-based abilities offers versatility in both PvE and PvP scenarios.

While optimized for high-level play, this build showcases the potential of new DLC weapons and encourages experimentation with different playstyles.

New Elden Ring Randomania League starts September 6, 2024

The Elden Ring Randomania League, hosted by Zoodle on Twitch, kicked off on September 6, 2024. This unique competition features teams of two racing to collect eight “Shards of Messmer” and defeat the final boss in a randomized Elden Ring world.

The tournament started with a bang, as BendDatAzz and Tom&Berry clinched nail-biting victories. The action continued with Tom&Berry and Bratwurst showing their mettle in the next round. Glorp then entered the fray, taking down guh in a mid-week showdown.

As the tournament progressed, we saw Bratwurst and bushriz flex their muscles, while Tom&Berry continued their winning streak. The matches on September 14 were particularly thrilling, with Tom&Berry and bushriz emerging victorious in close contests.

The plot thickened on September 15, with Glorp and Tom&Berry cruising to unchallenged victories, setting the stage for a potential league-deciding clash. However, in a twist worthy of George R.R. Martin himself, bushriz upset Glorp on September 18, crowning Tom&Berry as the Randomania champions!

But the drama wasn’t over! The final matchday on September 29 saw Glorp defeat the champions Tom&Berry, while Bratwurst snatched a victory from guh. This led to a three-way tie for second place between Glorp, bushriz, and Bratwurst!

Due to scheduling problems it’s not possible to bring everyone together to determine the ultimate runner-up and as a result, Team Bratwurst takes second place, while bushriz and Glorp share third place.

As we conclude our journey through September’s Elden Ring highlights, it’s clear that the passion and creativity of both developers and players continue to breathe new life into the Lands Between. From the game-changing updates in Patch 1.14 to the innovative Phantom Lancer build, the thrilling Randomania League, and even insights from new Soulslike contenders, this month has shown that the spirit of exploration and challenge remains as strong as ever.

These developments remind us why Elden Ring continues to captivate its community long after its initial release. Whether you’re fine-tuning your build for the next PvP encounter, diving into the chaos of randomized runs, or eagerly anticipating the next patch, there’s always something new to discover.

As we look forward to the challenges and adventures that October will bring, let’s take a moment to appreciate the vibrant community that keeps this game world thriving. Whether you’re a lone wolf or part of a jolly cooperation, remember that every Tarnished’s journey contributes to the rich tapestry of Elden Ring’s ongoing saga.

So, brave Tarnished, as you return to the Lands Between, may the guidance of grace be with you โ€“ and don’t forget to praise the sun!
