Tarnished, the first update for Elden Ring: Nightreign has arrived right for the launch! Patch 1.01 is now available across all platforms including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. This update focuses on improving your overall gameplay experience and enhancing stability.
What’s New in Patch 1.01
This update aims to improve gameplay and stability and brings several key improvements to Nightreign:
Character Improvements: The handling of playable characters has been improved, which should make your combat encounters feel more responsive and polished.
Audio Enhancements: Soundtrack additions and adjustments have been made, adding more depth to the game’s already impressive audio landscape.
Story Content: Character scenarios have been added, giving you more narrative content to explore as you progress through the world.
Balance and Polish: The update includes balance adjustments, text adjustments, and bug fixes to create a smoother overall experience.
Version Information
After installing the update, the version displayed at the bottom right of the title screen will show App Ver. 1.01 and RegulationVer. 1.01.1. Make sure you see these version numbers to confirm the patch has been applied correctly.
Important Notes for PC Players
If you’re playing on PC, there are a few things to keep in mind:
Installation Issues: If you’re unable to start the game after the update, you can resolve this by going to Steam’s “Library,” right-clicking on “ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN,” selecting “Properties,” then “Installed Files,” and executing “Verify Integrity of Game Files”.
Graphics Card Performance: Some PC configurations using the latest graphics cards may experience frame rate drops. The developers are investigating this issue, but in the meantime, you can potentially resolve significant frame rate drops by setting graphics from the default “High” to “Medium” or “Low,” lowering screen resolution, and installing the latest drivers for your graphics card.
