A Quick Look at Soulslike Games Coming in 2027

Soulslikes are piling up for 2027, and some of them only landed there because 2026 got too crowded. Publishers keep moving dates to dodge Grand Theft Auto VI and a packed autumn, with Lords of the Fallen II and Daba among the biggest shifts – time for our annual preview.

teaser image for upcoming soulslike games

This list covers games with a 2027 date, a 2027 window, or at least an official 2027 target. Every entry opens with a fact line: developer, platforms, release status and a soulslike check, because not every game here is a pure soulslike. Entries are sorted by certainty, with dated games first, then windows, then 2027-only.

Looking for the games that made it out in 2026? Our 2026 article has them.

Prison of Husks

Developer: Glass Head Dolls (publisher WINGS) ยท Platforms: PC (Steam), PS5 ยท Release: January 27, 2027 ยท Soulslike check: Yes, and there is no leveling system

Prison of Husks is the first dated entry on this list, and it comes from a small indie team. You wake as a doll in Lysiane, a painted afterlife that is falling apart, and set out to find the one you love. The look is deliberately early PlayStation, with low-poly models and low resolution.

Combat is built on precise parries, firearms and magic, and you can mix your gear freely. Each boss pushes you to rebuild your setup, and since there is no leveling, a death sends you back with a new plan instead of better stats. The levels are dense and interconnected, with shortcuts and secrets. The game started as a solo prototype on itch.io in 2023 and has grown into a small-team project. A PC demo with the first level and its boss is available on Steam, and a price has not been announced yet.

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember

Developer: Team Ninja (publisher Koei Tecmo) ยท Platforms: PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 ยท Release: March 4, 2027 ยท Soulslike check: Soulslike elements in a faster martial-arts action game

Wo Long 2 is the big dated release of early 2027. It was revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2026 with an “early 2027” window, and Koei Tecmo named March 4 on September 16. It launches on Xbox Game Pass on day one.

The story picks up in China in 208 AD, after the events of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, with a new protagonist. Team Ninja keeps the fast combat of the first game, where attack and defense are tied together, and adds new actions exclusive to the sequel. The battles are staged in open fields that recreate famous Three Kingdoms moments, including the Battle of Changban and the Battle of the Red Cliffs. Co-op multiplayer and character creation return as well.

A limited alpha demo covering part of the Changban stage ran until September 30, so it is no longer available.

No Rest for the Wicked

Developer: Moon Studios ยท Platforms: PC (Steam), PS5, with Xbox Series and Switch 2 versions later and undated ยท Release: March 2027 for the 1.0 launch, no exact date yet ยท Soulslike check: Yes, a dark fantasy action RPG with soulslike combat and Diablo-style loot ยท Status: Delayed from October 2026

No Rest for the Wicked comes from the Ori studio and has been playable in Steam Early Access since April 2024. Its 1.0 launch was set for October 2026, but Moon Studios moved it to March 2027, saying it needs more time to polish performance and the class system.

You play a Cerim, a member of a holy order of warriors, who has to stop the Pestilence, a plague spreading across the island of Isola Sacra. The game draws on Diablo, Dark Souls and town-building games, and you can play alone or in co-op with up to three other players. Version 1.0 promises all 15 regions, the end of the main story, a reworked class system and new endgame content. An open beta is planned for December.

Memoria Wake

Developer: Team Crescendo ยท Platforms: PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series ยท Release: early 2027, no exact date yet ยท Soulslike check: Yes, with dodging, parrying and a heal system tied to your energy

Memoria Wake is a soulslike action-adventure that was announced in June 2026 for an early 2027 launch. You play Nilo, who wakes in a fragmented land of shadows and light with nothing but a weaponized umbrella, and you have to piece together a broken past while hostile creatures hunt you.

In combat you dodge and parry at the right moment to open enemies up for heavy hits. The developers promise more than 20 bosses, four secondary weapons and artifacts that unlock new combat mechanics and puzzle-solving abilities. Healing draws from the same energy pool as your special attacks and abilities, so every heal costs you something.

Lords of the Fallen II

Developer: Hexworks (publisher CI Games) ยท Platforms: PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 ยท Release: Q1 2027, no exact date yet ยท Soulslike check: Yes, a classic dark fantasy soulslike ยท Status: Delayed from 2026

Lords of the Fallen II was planned for fall 2026, but CI Games announced on June 23 that it moves to Q1 2027. The studio says its Gameplay Feedback Team of soulslike veterans found chances to refine the game and that it needs more time to integrate and polish them. It also wants to stay out of a crowded holiday period, which this year includes Grand Theft Auto VI.

The sequel to the 2023 reboot is built around shared-progression co-op next to the single-player campaign. At Summer Game Fest 2026 CI Games showed a new katana weapon class and Ysiguen, a biome partly inspired by Asian mythology. A Switch 2 version was confirmed in the same month.

Daba: Land of Water Scar

Developer: Dark Star (publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment) ยท Platforms: PS5 (one outlet also lists PC, unconfirmed) ยท Release: spring 2027, no exact date yet ยท Soulslike check: Yes, with faster and more dynamic action than most ยท Status: Moved from 2026

Our 2026 list expected Daba around 2026, but the game never had an official date. At Sony’s State of Play on September 3, 2026 it finally got a spring 2027 window, along with Sony as publisher. It is part of PlayStation’s China Hero Project and comes from Dark Star, the team behind SINNER: Sacrifice for Redemption.

You play Adan, a clay puppet with a human look who was never meant to wake up, in a world that is dying of thirst after the Sky-Pillars collapsed. The levels are non-linear and interconnected, which is the clearest soulslike marker, but the combat is quicker than in a typical Souls game. The weapons shown so far include dual curved swords, a two-handed cudgel and sword-and-shield setups.

Vindictus: Defying Fate

Developer: Nexon (CAG Studio) ยท Platforms: PC (Steam), with more platforms planned but not named ยท Release: 2027, no date yet (Steam lists a planned 2027 release) ยท Soulslike check: Borderline, Steam tags it as soulslike but the director disagrees ยท Model: free-to-play

Vindictus: Defying Fate is Nexon’s single-player-focused action RPG reboot of its old Vindictus MMO, set in a fantasy world inspired by Celtic mythology. Combat revolves around perfect dodges, counters and heavy, committed strikes, and each character has their own skills and command inputs. There is no stamina bar, which sets it apart from most soulslikes.

The soulslike label is contested. Steam users tag it that way and some previews compare it to the genre, but game director Oh Dong-seok has described it as a “Vindic-Like” instead, built around reading enemy timing and landing combos. Nexon confirmed in an April 2026 AMA that the game will be free-to-play, with at least six playable characters at launch and a story that unfolds through regular updates. Co-op is available through special missions. I’m including it because of the Steam tag and the 2027 target, but treat it as borderline.

Watch list

These games have no official 2027 date yet, so they stay off the main list until they get one.

Lies of P sequel

Developer: Round8 Studio (publisher Neowiz) ยท Platforms: not announced ยท Release: no window announced, 2027 is possible but unconfirmed

The Lies of P sequel has no trailer or date yet. Neowiz said in its first-quarter 2026 earnings that the sequel entered full-scale development. In September 2026 Neowiz also filed an EU trademark for “Wonders of O”, and several outlets connect it to the sequel, though Neowiz has not confirmed that.

The first game has sold more than four million copies. I’ll move the sequel into the main list as soon as it gets an official window.

La Divina Commedia

Developer: Jyamma Games ยท Platforms: PC (Steam), more to be announced ยท Release: no window announced ยท Soulslike check: tagged Souls-like on Steam, but billed as hack and slash

Jyamma Games, the Italian team behind Enotria: The Last Song, announced this dark fantasy action RPG at Gamescom 2025. A warrior-poet is trapped in the underworld and has to fight down through the circles of Hell. The studio promises procedurally generated extraction dungeons, weapon classes with their own mechanics and fully craftable gear. Steam tags it as soulslike, but the studio itself calls it an action RPG with hack-and-slash elements, so it may play faster than a classic soulslike.

Loulan: The Cursed Sand

Developer: ChillyRoom ยท Platforms: PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PS5 ยท Release: no window announced ยท Soulslike check: borderline, a top-down action RPG that carries a Souls-like tag on Steam

Loulan is part of PlayStation’s China Hero Project. You play a skeletal warrior who switches between bone and sand forms, uses sand powers to solve puzzles and fights groups of enemies in grounded melee from a top-down view, along the ancient Silk Road. Steam tags it as soulslike, but I see it more as a hack-and-slash adventure with tough elites and bosses. It stays on the watch list until it gets a date.

Aeterna: Curse of The First King

Developer: Gamera Interactive (publishers Gamera Interactive and Ancient Scroll) ยท Platforms: PC (Windows), other stores unconfirmed ยท Release: no window announced ยท Soulslike check: Yes by the studioโ€™s own description, in an isometric action RPG

Gamera Interactive, the Italian studio behind Alaloth: Champions of The Four Kingdoms, calls this an isometric soulslike action RPG. Itโ€™s set in the 2nd century BC, when an ancient demon returns to threaten the Roman Republic, and the quest is to recover five artifacts and stop it. The game promises a large open world across the Republic, Greece and the barbarian lands, up to six recruitable companions and local co-op. The GOG page only appeared a few days ago and I found no other coverage, so details may change quickly.

Conclusion

The first months of 2027 already look busy. Prison of Husks, Wo Long 2, Memoria Wake, No Rest for the Wicked and Lords of the Fallen II all aim at the first quarter or early in the year, with Daba following in spring. Vindictus has only a year so far. Most of these dates are still windows, and the 2026 crowd has shown how quickly a window can move, so expect this list to change.

I’ll update this article as dates firm up and as new soulslikes get announced. If you spot a game I missed, let me know in the comments.
