This interactive tool visualizes the motion value data from the community spreadsheet ER – Motion Values and Attack Data (App Ver. 1.16), covering over 400 weapons across 40 weapon classes.
If you’re new to the concept, our article Motion Values in Elden Ring: The Hidden Dance of Damage explains the fundamentals – well worth a read before diving into the numbers.
The core formula is simple:
Actual Damage = Motion Value × Base Attack Rating
A higher motion value means more of your weapon’s attack rating is applied to that hit. A Charged R2 with a motion value of 185 hits significantly harder than an R1 at 100 – even with identical stats and upgrade level.
Want to see actual damage numbers? Enter your weapon’s Base Attack Rating (BAR) in the input field below the dropdowns, then switch the toggle from MV to DMG. The BAR is the number shown next to your weapon in the equipment screen in-game – it already includes your stat scaling and upgrade level. Every motion value in the chart and cards will instantly update to show the real damage output for your build.
Hover over any bar or data point in the chart to see the exact values.
Reading the legend:
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 1h / 2h | One-handed or two-handed grip |
| R1 | Light attack (fast, low stamina cost) |
| R2 | Heavy attack (slower, higher MV) |
| Charged R2 | Fully charged heavy attack (highest MV in most chains) |
| Offhand R1 | Attack with weapon in left hand |
| Backstep / Rolling | Attacks performed out of a backstep or roll |
| Running / Jumping | Attacks initiated while running or airborne |
| Guard Counter | R2 immediately after blocking an attack |
| Backstab / Riposte | Critical attacks (values vary: PvP vs. PvE, small vs. large enemy) |
