Welcome to a short post about Shadow of the Erdtree. I’d like to explain how you can easily destroy the pots containing Bell Bearings in the Elden Ring DLC from greater distance.
Once again, it’s Margit’s (or Mohg’s) shackle that does the trick โ just like with removing invisible walls or triggering fire/frost pillar traps. I have to admit, I’m using that item so often that I sometimes don’t even realize what it has done, but it’s helpful in many ways. In this case, the shackle causes the pot to explode, freeing the bell bearing for you to collect. See for yourself in the video below (unfortunately without audio):
If you’d like to know more about the armor set combination, take a look at The Phantom Lancer Build โ In Heavy Swords We T(h)rust.
Locations
I thought you should also know where to find the Bell Bearings, now that you know to easily break their housing. Here are the locations of all the Bell Bearings in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC:
String-Seller’s Bell Bearing:
- Near Prospect Town, southeast of Main Gate Cross
- In a hanging pot in a small ravine to the right of the town
Herbalist’s Bell Bearing:
- On the path between Pillar Path Waypoint and Dragon’s Pit
- In a hanging pot on the cliff to the right – as you can see in the clip
Greasemonger’s Bell Bearing:
- In Scadu Altus, between Bonny Village and Cathedral of Manus Metyr
- In a hanging pot on the cliffside to the left when heading north from Bridge Leading to Village Site of Grace
Mushroom-Seller’s Bell Bearing 1:
- Near Ellac River Cave
- In a hanging pot on the high walls north of the cave entrance
Mushroom-Seller’s Bell Bearing 2:
- Near Ellac River Downstream, south of the first Mushroom-Seller’s Bell Bearing
- In a hanging pot on rocks near a waterfall
Moldmonger’s Bell Bearing:
- Near Recluses’ River Downstream Site of Grace
- In a hanging pot northeast of the Site of Grace
Igon’s Bell Bearing:
- Obtained at the end of Igon’s questline
- Found at Foot of Jagged Peak after defeating Bayle the Dread
Ymir’s Bell Bearing:
- Obtained at the end of Count Ymir’s questline
- Found in the Cathedral of Manus Metyr
Moore’s Bell Bearing:
- Obtained through various methods related to Moore’s questline
Spellmachinist’s Bell Bearing:
- Found in Rabbath’s Rise, a tower in Scadu Altus
- The tower is located just down the path from the Church of Manus Metyr Rise
Most of these Bell Bearings are found in hanging pots, but now you know that there is no need to shoot them down with a ranged weapon, you can simply use one of the two shackles. However, some Bell Bearings are tied to NPC questlines and require you to progress through specific story events to obtain them.

Well, that’s it for this time. Happy hunting, and may this trick make your journey through the Realm of Shadow a little easier! See you next time somewhere out there.
