The wait is (nearly) over! After the successful Exhibition Weekend trial run back in May, Captain Domo has officially confirmed that the innovative 2v2 format is here to stay for Season 5 of Bingo Brawlersโand he’s revealed the teams that will compete!

From Trial Run to Official Season
Remember when we told you about that exciting Exhibition Weekend event back in May? The one that ran from May 16th to May 19th, 2025, incorporating both the Elden Ring base game and the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC in a team-based format? Well, it turns out the enhanced format clearly impressed both organizers and participants enough to make it the official structure going forward.
The trial run was designed to test whether the new mechanics combining base game and DLC content would hold up in practice, and based on this announcement, they’ve passed with flying colors.
What You Need to Know About Season 5
Season 5 officially adopts the 2v2 format that proved so successful during the Exhibition Weekend. If you missed our coverage of the trial run, here’s what makes this format so special:
The Core Concept Remains Unchanged Bingo Brawlers isn’t just another speedrunning tournamentโit’s a head-to-head race where teams compete to complete objectives on a randomized 5ร5 bingo board. Each square represents a unique in-game challenge, from slaying notorious bosses to collecting rare items. The lockout format means once a team claims a square, it’s off-limits to their rivals, forcing competitors to think fast and strategize on the fly.
Teamwork Takes Center Stage The duo format spans both the original journey through the Lands Between and the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Teams of two face off, with each member taking on a specialized roleโone warrior tackles the base game challenges while their partner ventures into the DLC realm.
The competition centers around completing objectives that come in three varieties:
- Base Game: Completed solely by the team’s base game specialist
- DLC: Exclusive to the Shadow of the Erdtree expert
- Cooperative/Crossover: These require true teamworkโeach player must complete their designated portion of the objective in their respective realm
This format rewards not just individual prowess but strategic coordination between teammates. Teams must communicate effectively and make tactical decisions about which objectives to prioritize as they race to claim victory on the bingo board.
The Confirmed Teams
Captain Domo has revealed the six teams that will be competing in Season 5:
Update: Because of scheduling conflicts, Grandpoobear stepped down, and Nessonetta will take his place as blanxz’s partner.
POSITIVE VIBES
FROGCARSPIN
ITZERINO
TBD
These teams represent an incredible lineup of talent from across the FromSoftware speedrunning and challenge-running community, with most players returning from Season 4‘s competitive field. With this mix of the reigning champion, semi-finalists, finals veterans, and skilled newcomers, Season 5 promises to showcase the highest level of competitive Bingo Brawlers yet seen.
Season 5 Trailer
The Season 5 trailer was released on September 19, 2025:
Technical Details You Should Expect
Based on what we learned from the Exhibition Weekend, Season 5 will continue to use:
- The Bingo Brawlers Weapon Randomizer: This randomizer randomizes dropped weapons and weapons on the map by category, randomizes starting classes by giving them all random stats, and fully randomizes shop inventories, keeping every match unpredictable and exciting
- One player in Base Game, one in DLC format per team
- The same winning conditions: first to complete a line (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) wins instantly; otherwise, the team with the most squares after two hours takes victory
- No exploits or glitches allowedโjust pure skill and knowledge of Elden Ring’s vast world
What This Means for the Bingo Community
The move to an official 2v2 season represents a significant evolution for Bingo Brawlers. The collaborative elements add new layers of strategy and communication that weren’t present in the traditional 1v1 format. Teams will need to not only master their respective domains (base game vs. DLC) but also coordinate effectively to tackle those crucial crossover objectives.
The success of the May trial run proved that audiences love watching the teamwork dynamics unfold in real-time. There’s something particularly engaging about seeing two experts work together, each bringing their specialized knowledge to bear on different aspects of the same ultimate goal.
